• GEMSTONE:        Oregon Sunstone, 15.47 Carat Caring
  •  ARTIST:               Ryan Anderson, California
  •  MINE:                  Double Eagle Mine, Oregon
  •  MUSEUM:           UA Alfie Norville Gem and Mineral Museum, Tucson, Arizona

This beautiful red Oregon Sunstone gem was crafted by Ryan Anderson from Double Eagle gemstone rough. The artistry and color could only be expressed by comparing this gem to itself, hence the name Red Squared.

Double Eagle Mine produces some amazing Oregon Sunstone crystals. For those in search of an exciting adventure, it is one of a few mines in the area to offer the public an opportunity to dig for their own Oregon Sunstone. It is hard work but can also be rewarding. There are no guarantees of success, of course, but we think it’s a fun experience. It is much like one of our Oregon Sunstone mining friends says:

“There are mining days and there are finding days”.

We agree, most are “mining days” but it is always a treasure hunt and there also can be “finding days”. If you happen to be successful, you may want to contact Ryan to see what he might do to turn an adventure into a great work of art.

We hope you will; (i) go out to a mine which is open for public digging (ii) visit a gem and mineral museum, (iii) look into social media of gem artists, miners and museums and (iv) be supportive of the hard work done by the American gemstone industry.
