Rose Quartz symbolizes universal love. It restores trust and instills feelings of peace and harmony. Darryl Alexander once said he doesn’t carve many gemstone hearts. Along came a beautiful wispy cloud of pink rose quartz and he couldn’t resist the pull. Heart Song pulls at the strings of our hearts as well.
The Rose Quartz from the Hogg Mine can be stunning. American Gemstones mined the rough for Heart Song on a trip to meet Chris Painter, the operator of the Hogg Mine. Chris is very welcoming and offers the public an opportunity to dig at the mine for a reasonable fee. Periodically he brings in an excavator to uncover a whole new layer of material for enthusiastic “treasure seekers”. In addition to asteriated (producing a star pattern when cut in a particular way) Rose Quartz, there are also Beryl, Aquamarine, Schorl (Black Tourmaline) and other crystals found. The setting is relaxing and Chris is a great host.
