DC Comics brought to life a special green light which can take material shapes. Perhaps this light was projected into a bright green piece of Oregon Sunstone rough and released into reality by Aivan Pham. His expert skill carefully crafted a stunning faceted green gemstone, the Green Lantern. The energy projected from this gemstone is almost palpable and the beauty, undeniable.

Typically we like to include a comment from someone connected to the American Gemstone project but, instead, we thought we would leave the comment on this occasion to Hal Jordan, the DC character who became a Green Lantern:

“You can’t foresee all the consequences of your actions – But that’s no excuse to do nothing”

A group of miners and artist talked for several years about ways to present to the public the variety and beauty of American gemstones. Most gemstone mines and artist are small operations, often only 1-5 people. We realized it would be difficult for any group of miners and artists to undertake and grow such a comprehensive project. However, we had no excuse for doing nothing. Helping a great group of individuals present such beautiful gemstones to the public became our mission. So, we created American Gemstones. All the power of Green Lantern’s light is needed to keep moving forward. We hope the consequence of our actions meets your approval.
